RO Plant for Boiler Feedwater Treatment at Mushroom Grower

Customer Needs

This project involved of design, supply and install and commission of a 4000 L/h RO plant.

The client is a leading mushroom grower in New Zealand with a great vision and goal in their carbon emission reduction. One of their biggest decarbonisation project is to replace the existing fossil fuel boiler with electrode boiler.

As such, they required a new RO plant, supplying high purity feedwater to their new electrode boiler for steam generation that will be used in many applications including room temperature control, products cleaning and pests / disease management.

Our Delivery

The RO plant we designed and installed includes

  • pre-treatment system (Pre Activated Carbon Filter + dual softener + 5μm filter + 1μm filter + Post Activated Carbon Filter )

  • 1 pass 2 stage RO

  • CIP system

The system is designed to operate automatically using tank level as control without any manual intervention.

System Outcome

The RO plant was successfully delivered with exceptional quality requirement to allow the boiler operate in optimum condition.

  • Total Free Chlorine : < 0.1 ppm

  • Total Free Chloride : < 0.1 ppm

  • Total Hardness : < 1.0 ppm

  • Conductivity : <5 μS/cm
